Thomas House

Nice and comfortable home. It was very roomie! Loved the shuffle board, pool table, and foosball! Plenty of parking and David gave great instructions for everything. I would definitely stay here again!

Great place

The space was large and generally as described. The floor was not level and felt unstable in some spaces, especially in the back bedroom and shower. Bathrooms needed to be detailed as walls and seams were dirty and the drain in the hallway bath was very slow.

Host was very willing to help us with alternate check in time. Rooms were perfect for our guests.

This is a double wide trailer in a rural, remote area. The host refers to it as an apartment and stand alone home but it wasn’t 100% clear that this is an older trailer. The floors continue to be dirty. The master shower has trouble draining. It is spacious. It does have clean linens. The trailer exterior needs to be cleaned with dirt caked on the door. There is plenty of parking available in the gravel driveway. It is quiet, remote and in a rural setting. We paid a higher price per night than what we would have paid at a 5 star hotel. It was not worth the price. With several new wedding venues in the area, it is a prime location for someone to open a nicer hotel or more Air B and Bs. Not sure this one fits the bill for attendants at the nice wedding venues in the area. David is very responsive and was a nice host. I just wish the property was nicer.

a great place for our mom-cation! we had a blast and enjoyed our time. the listing was just as pictured, check in was a breeze, and it had most of the things we needed. the fridge had a weird smell to it from the last guest and the coffee table kept rolling around if you bumped it, but otherwise we had a blast. would definitely recommend.

Spacious home not far from Hammond. Was the perfect stay for our family, we had 7 guests and still plenty of room.

This was by far our favorite place to stay on our trip! Absolutely beautiful home! Very spacious and comfortable. The kitchen is stunning. Decor was very tasteful. The kids loved the giant garden tub!

Great place

Thomas House has a lot of space overall. Enjoyed the porch & game room. Lots of seating & parking space. The bathroom amenities were a nice touch! It was close to my cousin’s wedding venue which is why we booked, but would definitely stay again!

If it wasn’t for the issues we experienced i would have given a 5 star. However the master bedroom bed was broken. I set on the bed (i’m 133lbs) and one side caved in. After accessing the bed there were no screws holding the frame together. I sent a message but no response at all. The towels are old with stains and one of the other bedrooms had a foul odor. The refrigerator needs cleaning and there were hair on some of the pillows. Outside of all this everything else was good to be a trailer. The neighborhood was quiet and the location was close to Hammond. The kids also enjoyed the game room.

The place worked great for our group of 11. Plenty of space for everyone. The kids loved the game area.

Very convenient for the whole family to get ready and stay for my daughter’s wedding at The Greenery. Lots of space. Game room great. Bigger then I thought. Would definitely recommend for anyone needing large space for big family.

I’ve stayed at Thomas house before and will gladly stay again! Big spacious home with plenty of comfortable beds and great game room! 10/10

great place for after our wedding

Overall it was a decent place that got the job done. Pretty good for a trailer. Needs a weekend and a few hundred dollars to fix the place up, several minor issues(light switches, vent fans in bathrooms, refrigerator drawers, etc). Floors don’t appear to have been mopped in a while, feet/socks turn black fairly quickly if not wearing shoes. Would stay again, but good to know the walls and doors are very thin, so any noise including neighbors chickens or the HVAC or any children will be heard throughout the house. WiFi was hit or miss as well.

We stayed in the Thomas house during the Christmas holidays for 3 days and had a lovely time. It comfortably fit all 11 of us and the children especially enjoyed the game room. There are occasionally roosters crowing from the next door neighbors, but it fortunately was never so loud that any of us were disturbed by it.

Thomas house was perfect and our host was wonderful. This is the perfect place if you’re looking for somewhere that’s out of the way but not too far from New Orleans. It’s spacious and the kids have their own area too.

Place met our expectations. Very roomy. Very clean. Only two issues. The exhaust fan in second bathroom needs to be changed. Very noisy. Also some of the light switches are not working correctly. Thanks for everything.

Honestly so happy we booked the Thomas House for our airbnb to get ready for my big day. It has tons of space and fit my entire wedding party for the three days we were there. Highly suggest this home if you are getting married in the Hammond/Independence area.

Great place!

If you have a large group and need a family friendly space for cooking and visiting this place is perfect. It's quiet and close to Hammond and The Berry Barn. We felt at home and would definitely stay again.

A lot of room for the price.

We stayed for one night. Two and 1/2 families. Our expectations were exceeded! VERY roomy!! The perfect location for us and all of our needs were met. Very very nice and would definately stay here again!

We were travelling with friends for a few days. We found this place as it fit our needs for sleeping arrangements. It was spacious - but there could have been some things that were better. I sent a message to the host but have not heard back at this time. I can change my review based on that. But, the floors were dirty. There was dirt and other debris where the cleaning person did not get to. Our feet were dirty walking around. There were hairs, food, dirt & wrappers left in drawers of bathrooms, dressers and in kitchen cabinets. I have pictures. The refrigerator was not very clean. Looked like something had been spilled but not cleaned up. We tried to clean as best as we could. Filter was due for a change as well. Fork in bottom of dishwasher, fan in common bathroom was like a jet plane, and no drain plug in master bath. If these things were addressed - this would have been 5 stars.

We stayed only one night but really wish we could’ve stayed longer. The house was as described and just like other homes it has normal wear but no complaints at all. Oh and pizza from Milan wooden fire pizza was amazing!! Highly recommend others to try out their pizza. Anyways the house is in a great spot and we happened to pop up while it was misting and had a chance to see and hear some frogs which was really cool. Definitely will keep this home in mind when we visit Orleans soon!!

We absolutely loved being there. Drinking coffee on the porches (front and back). There was enough space to spread out. Quiet. It was an experience for our very large family.

The place was BETTER than the photos show, and boy, was there plenty of room. The first thing we loved was the front porch--maybe not that much appreciated in muggy Louisiana summer, but pretty good for a cool spring afternoon. The house is clean, spacious, and pleasantly decorated. Lots of closet space, so you can stash your stuff and keep that pleasant, uncluttered feel to the place. I didn't expect to get as much use from the large playroom as we did, but it turned out to be a great bonus space. We took a short walk across the road to get afternoon snowcones and later picked up dinner there ("Bustin' Loose Snowballs and MORE") on the evening we didn't want to cook. They really do have "more"! We discovered upon arrival that some lights weren't working; a text to David had him there long before dark with new bulbs to solve that simple problem.

I will book with David again. The place was spacious and accommodating. The children enjoyed the big yard and game room. I was so happy to see them laughing and playing because we were visiting due to funeral services for a love one.

We really enjoyed this airbnb. We hated we were only there one night! There is so much space! We stayed overnight before boarding a cruise ship in New Orleans. Works great for a group of people. We all had our own space we enjoyed the game tables.

Very nice place. We had a great stay. I loved how big it was and how much room we had to move around. The kitchen was a nice size and well stocked with pots/ pans/ utensils/ dishes/ glasses etc..so we could make our own meals. The beds and couches were comfortable and easy to relax in. The neighborhood roosters were entertaining. Overall we were very happy with our stay and would certainly come back.

We had the perfect stay while visiting family for thanksgiving. The house was huge and clean!

We had a really great stay! The home is very spacious and the perfect place if you're having multiple families stay together. The game room is what sold us on booking and it kept our teens occupied the entire time! The kitchen is very spacious and stocked with pots and pans. We really felt right at home in this space and if we're in the area again with a bunch of teens, we will definitely stay again.

The kitchen was slim for cooking but overall no complaints. They had a great K-cup selection. We couldn’t find check out instructions so just stripped the beds and put towels in laundry room when we left. Very spacious and clean.

The Thomas House was wonderful! The pictures don't showcase how nice the house is. Very clean and spacious. I would rent again. It is located 45 mins from the airport.

Beautiful place to stay and relax 💯 recommend

We had two families totaling 11 people staying at the Thomas House. There was plenty of room for everyone and it didn't feel cramped at all. David was very responsive with any questions we had, and the night before checkout he sent us instructions on how to leave the house. I highly recommend this location and host and would stay there again.

My family and I stayed at David’s house over night, on our way to the New Orleans cruise port. It slept all of us very comfortably. It was quiet and an easy drive into New Orleans. It’s location is near the interstate, so it was very convenient. We would stay again. Thanks David!

The stay was AWESOME. The Pictures does not tell it all, there is way more. You be mad at all. Especially if you like being in the country too.

The place was awesome. I booked by accident since my family lives in New Orleans and it’s an hour away. So… partying in New Orleans then driving back an hour… phew… But I would definitely revisit David’s place.

The place is very nice and the family enjoyed every part of the house. You can forget about the noise of the city and enjoy the countryside having everything close by.
